The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to arrange a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard season average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to seven points just two plays
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Bills we've seen this year
Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the jury's out on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're among three 8-2 squads in the league, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?
One could pick holes in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined 24 wins achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a declaration
Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves credit for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his side to success
The defense is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two before the upcoming major game between the pair in LA
They've both won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game
Each could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor might be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
