Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
