Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues
The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.
During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.
“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.
“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”
Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.
“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”
Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.
However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”
Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.
Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”
The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.
Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.
Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.
Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.
During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”
The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
